Baby Born on Feb 16!

Dear Praying Friends and family,

Unfortunately, by the time this email goes out it will be Sunday AM and the baby will be a day old. But, nonetheless, we do have exciting news that Israel David Wrachford made his appearance at 9:03 am on Saturday Feb 16! He weighed in at a whopping 10 lb 3 oz at birth and 21 inches. He seems to be a very happy little fellow and we are loving him to death.

As you all probably know, my wife and I had decided to go the midwife route. However, near the end of her labor, it became necessary to transport to a hospital as my wife was unable to finish the final stages of labor due to the baby’s size. Once we transported there, they were able to give her the help she needed without doing a c section. And she completed the labor in two more hrs, which was a great relief to her from the nearly two days worth of labor she had already been through. We are thankful all went well. However, as you can imagine that this will be quite a bit of an expense we were not anticipating. Please pray that God would meet the need. God has been so good to us. We wanted to include a picture so you can put a face with the update ūüôā

Greetings From Dunbar

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

I trust you are doing well. I pray that this letter finds you enjoying God’s blessings where He has planted you. I have you all in my mind and heart on a regular basis and am praying that God will use you in tremendous ways. Hopefully, you had a wonderful Christmas. I know that I did and it was wonderful to see so many friends and family.

As I am sure you all are well aware by now, my wife and I are expecting our first child who is due this Friday. Things seem to be progressing and we are in much suspense as to when our precious blessing from God will make his or her appearance. We will definitely send out an update when that happens ūüôā

As for ministry, things are going well. We had the privilege of having a teen activity this past month at the end of January. There was a good turnout for it and we are just praying that some of the teens will have a renewed interest in the church and God will do a drawing work. We have a couple of young people that I am trying to encourage and mentor along a little more as they seem to have a desire to do right. I have asked them to pray about taking a missions trip this summer. So, I am excited to see what God will do and how He will lead them.

At the beginning of January, God allowed me to preach at a Pastor’s fellowship in central Pa led by Pastor John Leatherman. Many of these men are personal friends and many I am just beginning to build a friendship with. It was a blessing to be able to encourage them in their work for God, and they are definitely an encouragement to me.

I am excited for the time we will be back on the road! We have one revival meeting scheduled in March in Central Pa, and want to see God move in a mighty way. Also, we do have a couple of Vacation Bible Schools for the summer. One is a new church, one we have been to several times and are looking forward to ministering there again. I do have a few openings left. So if you would pray that God would fill our schedule out for the summer and give us exactly what He wants us to have.

The rest of the year is looking pretty open at this point, but we are trusting and asking God to give us the opportunities that He longs for us to have.

a couple of weeks ago, in our deaf class, my wife had a visitor by the name of Dream. He really enjoyed his first visit, but lives about two hrs away and had spent the weekend with his friends whom he goes to the deaf school with in Pittsburgh. God is at work in the class and the kids are beginning to ask some questions!

as I close this letter, I would like to give you a couple of prayer requests and praises.

  • I am praising God that He has brought several people into my path recently that I have been able to witness to!
  • Please pray that God would work in the lives of our teens. Specifically, pray for Jordan, JT, and Micah the thred that we normally have, that God would strengthen their walk with Him, and they would want to be fully dedicated to God.
  • Pray for several that we have not seen in a while that we are trying to reach out to and see God bring them back to church and work with the needs that they have including salvation. Melody, Kaitlyn, Jerry, Addessa, John…( several of these did come to the teen activity recently)
  • Pray that God would give divine appointments to witness and that I would recognize them as they come.
  • Pray for meetings to fill our schedule and that God would work through me and my wife.

Joyfully Serving Our Risen Saviour,

Stephen, Karyn and Baby Wrachford.

Merry Christmas!!

Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to start out by saying merry Christmas from our family to yours! We hope that you have a wonderful and Christ honoring time and enjoy some extra time with  friends and family! Hopefully, you will read this before the day is out anyway, but if not, a belated merry Christmas. We are very thankful for each of you with your faithful prayers and friendship; serving along side you is always such a blessing and you are in our prayers on a regular basis. I trust that you will have a great 2019 as well and that God will richly bless you as you serve Him!

Since the last update, so much has happened, my wife has started a class for the deaf family that has been coming to our home church, so she enjoys doing this when we are not on the road. Please pray specifically for them that they would understand the gospel and be saved.

Recently, I was able to go up to help Pastor Penberthey for whom many of you have been praying. He seems to be doing well considering the circumstances, but he is definitely looking forward to being back in action full swing as soon as possible. Continue to pray for him as he faces his next surgery for the final knee replacement in the near future. I was able to get out and visit several of his church members for him while I was filling in for him a couple of weeks ago. My wife was not able to go so we have been blessed to be back together again and are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with family!

Many of you have been praying about our vehicle and travel trailer situation. After much prayer, God has led us to purchase a small utility trailer for the time being to accommodate all our luggage during travels which was our biggest immediate need with the baby coming. We will just continue to wait on the Lord to see what else He may have for us. Please pray for us as we get the hitch installed on the car in the next couple of days that everything will go well in His will. We are so thankful that our car is doing so well and has continued to run without any major issues.

We had a tremendous meeting with Pastor Livermore back in November with visitors pretty much every night and excellent attendance. We are thankful for the tender hearts. This Christmas season has been very busy helping with the church wide Christmas banquet at our home church and preaching for Pastor Stevenson at his church Christmas banquet. In the month of January I will be preaching for a pastor’s fellowship in central Pa. I am looking forward to the time of fellowship and making connection with different pastors.

We have switched recently to a midwife for the baby since it is a much more affordable option and has more of the type of care we had been wanting anyway. We are thankful for her and how nice she has been. Hard to believe that the baby is due to arrive in just a few weeks.

We are looking forward to this coming year and all that God has in store for our family and the upcoming meetings. Please continue to keep us in your prayers

In closing, we would like you to pray:

  • for a healthy mom and baby in the delivery process
  • for our child to be saved at an early age.
  • for the upcoming pastor’s fellowship that God would use it to be a blessing to the pastors
  • for more meetings in this upcoming year, especially VBS
  • God’s power in preaching and soul winning efforts
  • God’s provision

Joyfully Serving our Risen Saviour,

Stephen, Karyn and baby Wrachford

Special Prayer Request

Dear praying friends,

I wanted to write this quick email to just give a praise and also to give a matter of earnest prayer. Even since the last update, God has continued to bring opportunities into my path to book meetings. I am very grateful. God has continued along the way on the road for me to meet some amazing friends and see God bless with people’s heart being touched by the Word of God. We had a wonderful homecoming service this last Sunday at South Charlotte Baptist Church and several visitors came for the special occasion and I was privileged to preach to the Kids as well as the adults. We are hoping to help the ministry here over the next couple of weeks in between meetings.

For the special prayer request, I have been able to make acquaintance with a new friend Pastor Lloyd Penberthy. He is pastor of First Baptist Church of Hallsetead, Pa. Right now, he is dealing with knee problems and is in need of a double knee surgery. This is weighing heavily on his mind as he has not been able to do the work of the ministry like he desires and will be out of the pulpit for a while with the two separate surgeries. His first is to take place on Nov 9th. It would just like to get an army of God’s servants together praying for him. If God would lead you to be an encouragement to him, information to contact him can be found here.¬†http://www.fbchallsteadpa.org/contact-us.php

I am sure he would love to know that you are praying for him! He has asked me to come help him out at least for the 16th of December to begin with and do some visiting during the week. Please pray with me that this would be an encouraging a fruitful week for this new friend! Pray for visitors to come and pray for souls to be saved and people surrendered! Also, as you think of him, pray that God would allow the surgeries to be successful and he would be able to get back in the saddle if this would be God’s will and for His Glory!

We certainly appreciate your prayers as my wife and I minister together and navigate these final few months of her pregnancy and eagerly await the birth of our first child! Pray that God would grant wisdom to discern the balance between ministry and meeting family needs with the Dr. appointments and so forth.

Plodding On

Dear Praying friends,

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers! God has been blessing! In our last update, I asked each of you to pray for more meetings and God has continued to do just that! Several churches have allowed me to come to either fill in for them or to share about the future of our ministry and the direction God is leading.

We were able attend a special fellowship last week with Beacon of Truth and meet several new pastors and several long time friends there. One pastor has asked me to come preach a revival meeting for him this coming Nov.  Also, we made many wonderful friends and the time of fellowship was such an encouragement.

Back in September, God allowed me to preach another revival at my good friend, Pastor Erick Linginfelter’s church! What an encouragement that week was to see people with tender hearts and wanting revival. The pastor was greatly blessed this week and we were able to see some fruit from visits throughout the week and a man who had just recently been saved but is dealing with a terminal illness was able to attend church for the first time since being saved! During that week, my wife taught a sign language class to the kids which they greatly enjoyed, and I preached in their Christian School Chapel.

My wife is doing well, and it is hard to believe that she is over halfway through the pregnancy. The doctors have been very pleased with everything to this point and we are looking to the Lord in these last 5 months to have His perfect will in things and that we will be godly parents that will raise our child to serve Him.

Back in the end of September, I was able to preach the Harvest Dinner at my home church for the Sunday and it was a blessing to see several folks come who had not been to church in 30 years or so show up! Please pray that they will come back and get grounded in the things of God or be saved if they are not yet saved.

We are looking forward to the months ahead of us as we continue to travel until we settle down for the Christmas season and the birth of our child! Please continue to pray for us! We are still seeking wisdom about the travel trailer. I have done some research and looking into different options. At the very least we will probably need to purchase another vehicle and find a way to accommodate the supplies we will need to carry on the road with the edition of the child. Here are the prayer requests We would like you to keep in mind as you think of us.

  1. Safety and health in travels
  2. For Spirit filled preaching and living
  3. For Wisdom regarding the travel trailer
  4. For more meetings
  5. For God’s provision for the birth of our child
  6. For Spiritual fruit, salvation, and surrender of God’s people

Blessings!

Dear Praying Friends,

God has continued to bless in many ways since the last update! I Just wanted to catch everyone up on what has been happening since the beginning of the year. God allowed me to have several opportunities to do pulpit supply as well as work with the youth at my home church in Dunbar Pa. Several of the young people graduated and we had a few new ones move up into the youth group.

Back in May, Karyn and I were finally married and it has been a wonderful two months of serving the Lord! Thanks for all your prayers and support throughout this time. We both officially joined Dunbar Baptist in Dunbar, Pa as our sending church following our marriage. Just a couple of weeks ago we were able to direct the VBS of our home church and see two children come to know Christ. Karyn shared the missionary story each night and I preached.¬†¬†The parents of one of¬†our bus kids also accepted Christ¬†for which we are very grateful!¬†We also found out that there will be a new addition to our evangelistic ministry early next year Lord willing! Pray for a healthy little one in God’s will and that the young one will grow up to love and serve our Saviour! Unfortunately, the health coverage that we had arranged for will not cover her due to how soon this occurred, so please pray for wisdom regarding this situation.

Following our VBS, we went out to Troy, OH to assist that ministry alongside Evangelist Glenn Stevenson for the week. we had a good number of young people in the morning VBS and the evening teen events as well 25 or so people made profession of faith throughout the week. We were involved in the counseling as well as the program itself, and my wife led the games throughout the week. I also had the opportunity to preach to the Jr. Church on Sunday morning and my wife led singing that day. Throughout the week we helped invite teens to the evening event.

When we arrived back in Dunbar this past week, we had a deaf family visit the church that my wife and I had met several weeks prior in the park. She was able to interpret for the service and share the gospel with them. This was a direct answer to prayer!

Please pray for us that God would continue to supply meetings and we will be a blessing to churches wherever we go! It is a great joy to serve in evangelism and see young and old alike trust Christ. If there is any way we can serve you, please feel free to reach out to us, and we would be happy to help any way we can!

There is also a praise regarding our ministry, several people have chosen to support us through Dunbar Baptist Mission at our home church, so this will enable us to be a help to churches that don’t have the financial capability to have an evangelist for meetings. We are excited for the possibilities that God has! This has also been a direct answer to prayer!

Thank you everyone for your prayers, encouragement and financial support. The part you play in our ministry is a huge part of all that God is doing!

We have a few prayer requests:

  1. Spirit filling in everything we do
  2. Wisdom regarding whether we should purchase a travel trailer or not for our ministry
  3. we would like to take a missions trip soon. Pray that God would clearly lead us as to where He would have us to go and when.
  4. Pray for my wife as she carries our child and that the Lord would supply the needs.
  5. Pray that the parents who were saved will come to church.

Merry Christmas

Dear praying friends and family,

Merry Christmas to each of you! It is hard to believe another year has come and gone! I trust that each of you are doing well and enjoying God’s richest blessings in this season. We have so much to thank God for in sending His Son Jesus to this earth and for His blessings from day to day.

I wanted to take the time to update everyone on what is going on in my ministry as August was the last time that I had sent one out. I do want to apologize for the long delay. However, there are so many things that have been going on as I have been waiting to see how God would lead. You may remember that in my last prayer letter ¬†I mentioned an unspoken prayer request. I am happy to be able to say that I can say God has answered with a resounding yes. I am so thankful for God’s leading as He has brought Karyn, a young lady with a missions heart and a desire for soul-winning into my life! Just last week we were engaged to be married! I am attaching picture of us so that you can see the answer to prayer. I am so grateful for her friendship and for how God has brought us together. We want to wish you all a merry Christmas together, and thank each of you for your prayers. We are excited what God has in the days ahead as we prepare to serve the Lord together. We have plans to be married on May 12, 2018. She has been a short term missionary for a time in Peru and is now back in the states. God has clearly led us both down the path to this point. Pray for us as we plan to report back to her churches next year after marriage and hopefully be able to present the ministry to the churches once again. Our goal is to be able to continue taking meetings overseas as well as help smaller ministries who cannot afford to have an evangelist. We both have a great desire to further the cause of assisting in church planting and revival work. ¬†We are excited for the VBS opportunities that have come up for 2018. We look forward to continuing to serve the Lord in full time evangelism taking VBS and revival meetings. If God would so lead, we would love to take the opportunity to serve you.

I wanted to also let you know of another opportunity that God has given to us as I have been asked to represent Flying Eagle Ranch. This is a camp in Ga that has a soul-winning heart and God has been doing some great things with this camp. Levi Rose Jr. ¬†just became the director as of this past summer and Lord willing, I will be preaching there for the second time this coming summer. Please pray for God’s leading in how and what I should do in my connection with this ministry.

Things have been going well in the ministry at the church where I am serving on staff in between meetings. There has been one young man named Tyler who accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. There have also been a couple of young people who really seem to want to make some steps of growth. I just praise God for all that He has done.

In closing, I would like to leave you with a few specific prayer requests.

  1. That God would be glorified in every decision that needs to be made as Karyn and I plan to be married.
  2. For Christ to be magnified in our lives together and that He would have first place
  3. For Tyler to continue to grow and  be faithful to church.
  4. That God would continue to supply meetings

Once again, I want to thank you for all your prayers and support over these last few years as I have been serving God alone and looking forward to a new chapter as Karyn and I serve the Lord together. We both covet your continued prayers and look forward to seeing some of you soon.

Joyfully Serving our Risen Saviour,

Stephen Wrachford

What a summer!

Dear praying friends,

I trust that this letter finds each of you doing well. God’s blessings are without measure! How undeserving we are for the grace and mercy He grants with each passing day. The service of the King is such a wonderful thing. Once again, in two months, so much has happened, maybe I’ll have to write more often! Haha!

It was a blessing to have a couple of chances to be at VBS for the summer, and God tremendously blessed with souls saved! One of the churches I was in last year and it was so great to see the kids still attending regularly at the church and growing. It was also great to see a few new children, some of whom the Pastor was not expecting to come. The other church I was at two years ago and it was a blessing to see what God has done in that ministry as well. One of the great joys of being in evangelism for a few years is the privilege of seeing remaining fruit! My heart was helped for sure!

My time in Haiti was very profitable, although it was very eventful in ways I would have preferred not to have experienced! One thing that God showed me once again is that where He is at work, Satan is also working overtime. I had trouble with my flights on the way down and back with them changing flight schedules or being delayed. One plane was delayed due to mechanical failure. Because of that, I missed almost two days of ministry in Haiti. We also had a young man who nearly died right in front of us. Thankfully God had the right people there at the right time to spare his life.  But nonetheless, souls were saved and Christians were able to be encouraged to keep on for Him and grow. The question answer time with the young people proved to be a very helpful time. They especially had many questions regarding eternal security. It appears each time I go back to Haiti, that God has more work for me to do in this needy land! Although God has not lead me there full time, He has definitely put a huge piece of my heart in this small island!

I believe that there were somewhere around 20 or more saved this summer so far. All glory goes to Him for the increase!

There is so much I’d love to say here, but I am going to leave it for another time as I share some things God is doing in my ministry!

As I look at this coming fall and summer, there is a good bit of open time for any needs you pastors may have. Should God so lead, it would be a great joy to serve in any capacity whatsoever!

As I close, I’d appreciate prayers specifically in several ways.

  1. That God would lead me in the major decisions I am currently facing regarding ministry transition in full-time evangelism!
  2. That my walk with God would grow stronger
  3. A special personal unspoken
  4. souls to be saved!
  5. health and safety in travels and for more meetings.

May God continue to bless each of you! I am so grateful for the prayers and financial support of each of my readers.

Joyfully Serving our Risen Saviour,

Stephen Wrachford

Micah 6:8

Wonderful Blessings!

Dear praying family and friends,

It is hard to believe that nearly two months has passed since my last update and so much has happened that I feel I am long overdue for another one. God has been so good over the last couple of months despite a few minor health problems that have come up. I am trying to work through those, but I am so thankful for God’s goodness!

Many of you are aware of my recent decision through much prayer and seeking God’s face for wisdom to step away from Chick Fil A to be able to focus fully¬†on ministry. I am very grateful even for the closed doors! God has lead through them. Since there were so many possibilities, they have been narrowing and in unique ways made what is NOT of Him obvious. I am encouraged¬†by that to know I am getting closer to what He DOES want!

For the last 5 weeks, I have been serving at Bible Baptist Church in Brownsville, Pa and seeing God bless tremendously! Though it has been very different for me, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the Apostle Paul and how though he had an itinerate ministry, would sometimes spend a few weeks, months or even a year or two in one place doing the work of the evangelist. Though I greatly enjoy a week of meetings and believe firmly that it is something that God wants to be done, there are also tremendous benefits of spending longer than just a week. In the short time I have been here, it has been a great joy to see folks making decisions to reach out to neighbors and invite them to church or mentor someone themselves. They are beginning to catch a vision for what God wants! I have also watched God give them a greater desire for prayer! There is also an eleven-year-old boy who came to church as a result of a community outreach recently! Others have made initial contact with the church and been exposed to the gospel! Pastor Dallas will be coming June 12 as their full-time Pastor and I will be hitting the road very soon after that for a summer of meetings. Please pray the work God has started will continue on into the future! I would be thrilled if God would open another opportunity down the road to spend several weeks in a place doing what I have been able to do here, as He opens doors. Please pray, pray, pray! All the efforts will be in vain without the hand of God and the power of prevailing prayer! My prayer is that God would give at least 30 souls this summer. God has already seen fit to save 3 so far and others have received the Word.

Into the fall and early parts of next year, my schedule is still pretty open. It is not too early to begin thinking about events you may be looking to have help with in the upcoming year. If the Lord should so lead, I’d love to help in any way possible. Sometime in 2018 or early 2019, Lord willing I will be making a trip to the Solomon Islands to help in an outreach there being organized by a missionary in Austraila. Our goal is to get 50,000 scriptures in the hands of school-aged children, as well as lay groundwork for aggressive soul-winning and discipleship efforts in the months and years ahead should the Lord tarry! The need is great! If as an individual or church you would be interested¬†in having a part, feel free to reach out so I can let you know of the various ways in which you could have a part in this effort!

Many thanks to the praying friends and faithful supporters of God’s people in many different ways. As, I have been making my way through 2 Timothy once again, God just really gave me a special blessing by noticing the life of Onesiphorus who Paul says ” sought Paul out and oft refreshed him” While Paul was experiencing trials, and blessing alike, he was grateful for those who came along and encouraged in many different ways, whether through prayer, love gifts, or just being there. I am blessed personally to have many such people in my life as well and want to say a very BIG thank you for all of those things! May God richly bless you and I am praying for you!

Joyfully Serving Our Risen Saviour,

Stephen Wrachford

Truely Blessed

Dear Praying Friends,

It is my prayer that this letter finds you all doing well and having enjoyed some extra time reflecting on what God did for us in sending His son and His wonderful resurrection! It is such a joy to know we serve a risen king!!! Maybe some of those reading this update will have seen other posts I have made in recent times and therefore be getting this information again, but many of you keep up solely through the email updates, so I thought it would be a good time to share some of the things that have transpired recently. I learned not all that long ago that the house I had been staying in would no longer be available where I have been staying. In addition to this, I have spent much time seeking God for direction in my ministry over the last few months. Through God’s leading, it has become apparent that He wanted me to step away from Chick Fil A for an indefinite period of time to be able to take part in various ministry opportunities that have been presented to me. A pastor in the upstate of New York has been talking to me about helping him in one form or another between meetings as well as maybe arranging other meetings in the needy New Egland area. There are some other possibilites. I know I have been very vauge regarding future plans. For those of you who have kept track through social media, it is because I am still seekng God for more specific direction as to what all He may have for me. Nonethless, I am excited as God has seemingly been answering specific prayer on these initial steps. This past Sunday, after an evening service, A man came up to me asking for some spiritual help. It was a great thrill to be able to lead him to Christ personally!

I am also excited to announce that for a month and a half, I will be interim pastoring a church that is waiting for the pastor they have called to be able to come in mid June! This will be some wonderful hands-on experience that God will be able to use in the future as God continues to open doors of evangelism!
