Joyfully Serving Jesus

Dear faithful praying and supporting friends,

We wanted to start out by apologizing for the long time in between updates. It seems that time slips by us before we know it so often. However, we are VERY excited to report on all that God has been doing and that we look forward to in the future. We only ended up with the one Vacation Bible School for the summer. However, it was a great blessing and joy to serve at Temple Baptist Temple alongside another evangelist couple. Throughout the week, there were a number of teens and young people who made profession of faith. We mostly helped with games and logistics, however, I was also able to preach on Wednesday to the adults in their regular Bible study and on Thursday night to the teens. We also saturated the area with fliers and invitations to the week of meetings. I was able to preach several Sundays doing pulpit supply as well as special events. All but one Sunday in September was booked. We praise God for providing meetings and for the lives that have been impacted for eternity!

While we were in Deleware, Karyn was also able to teach a children’s class on Sunday morning. I preached a men’s prayer breakfast on Saturday, and all day on Sunday was preaching as well.

Looking ahead, God seems to be opening more and more doors. There is one church who is prayerfully considering supporting our ministry on a monthly basis as one of their missionaries, so we will be attending their missions conference and sharing our ministry and the burdens that God has put on our heart for this ministry of serving various churches and reaching the lost abroad. Please pray for wisdom in presenting the ministry and for God’s clear direction. We are excited about our future in evangelism.

Last week, we were blessed to be at Riggles Gap Bible Church alongside Evangelist Dan Brubaker for their revival services. My wife and I were able to conduct the children’s services for the week. We had a good number of kids each night and praise the Lord for what He did! They seemed to be receptive and also worked hard to invite friends throughout the week. Dan also had tremendous services with a special salvation emphasis on Friday. Please pray for lasting fruit from this week of meetings.

Please continue to pray for the housing needs that we have and that God would clearly guide us as to what step He would have us to take. If there is ever any way we can serve your church, please as always feel free to contact us.

Joyfully serving our risen Saviour,

Stephen, Karyn and Israel Wrachford

Ministry Transitions

Dear faithful supporters,

We wanted to start off by saying how thankful we are for God’s grace that is truly sufficient for any circumstance that may come our way!

These last few months have been a time of big transitioning in our ministry.

Our home church has found a full-time assistant who will be coming this month to take over assisting our pastor. Because of that, we will no longer be working on staff. Please pray that God would truly bless and this transition would go smoothly for our family as well as our new assistant.

Due to this ministry change, we will also no longer be living in the church parsonage.  For the time being, we will be staying with Stephen’s parents as we continue to pray for God’s clear direction for housing and ministry opportunities.

In the meantime, we are excited to continue serving at our church!

Things are going well with our Sunday deaf class. The children have professed to be saved and we are now praying for their growth in Christ. I have been challenging them to be a witness and they each took tracts and have committed to pass them out. Please pray for the salvation of their father Dale. Also pray that God would allow me to train another assistant as my brother-in-law Micah will be heading to Bible college in the fall.

We are also continuing to help in the gospel outreach program, The John Project. There have been several people who have been spoken to about their souls and many others who are still reading the book of John. Please pray that God would continue to convict and draw these precious souls to Himself.  We are especially burdened for many of our neighbors including: Randy, Tony, Laurie, Mrs. Giobbi, Carmela, Regina, TJ, Sara, Mary, Heather, Megan and many more. Please pray for their salvation and growth.

We are thankful that Stephen has had the opportunity to preach in several churches over the past few months. He had the special privilege of preaching for the high-school graduate’s service we had here on June 9th. That was a blessing as his youngest brother Micah graduated. Pray for him as he attends Indiana Baptist College this fall.

We look forward to being able to help at 1 vacation Bible school this summer. Also please pray for our home church’s vbs that will be July 22-26th. Unfortunately, we will not be able to help due to a conflict in our schedule.  We covet your prayers that many souls will be saved.

We are happy to report that Israel is 4 ½ months old and doing great! He rolled over yesterday for the first time. Please pray for his salvation and the wisdom we need to raise him for the Lord.

Words cannot express how thankful we are to you all for your prayers and financial support. You all have been a huge blessing and encouragement to us!  We still have open time in our schedule to serve your church with Bible Schools in the Pa, Ohio area this summer. We are also open for revival meetings or pulpit supply for this fall. Let us know if we could be a blessing in any capacity at your church.

Joyfully Serving our Risen Savior,

The Wrachfords

Souls For Jesus

Dear praying friends,

We are so excited to update you all on how God has been working over the last month!

In April, we had a young lady named Trista come on our van route to church. She fell under great conviction and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior after the service. That evening she was baptized! Please continue to pray for her growth.

I (Karyn) have been blessed to continue mentoring my brother-in-law Micah in sign language. We take turns teaching the class on Sundays with the deaf family. Please pray specifically for the hearts of each one of these children: Caleb, Dalton, Dale Jr. and Kalilah. Pray that God would open their eyes to the Gospel.

We are always amazed at how God continues to bring people into our paths that need Jesus. Over the last month, God has allowed us to witness to many people including: Bess, Heather, Bobbie, Kelly, Nikki and so many more. Pray for the salvation of these precious souls.

Nikki is a lady I met while attending a sign language class at a local library. She is a Jehovah’s Witness. Praise God we have been able to meet once so far and discuss the Bible and salvation. Please pray as we continue to meet that God would open her eyes to the truth.

My husband has had the opportunity to continue teaching the teen class at our church. Please pray for our faithful teens JT, Jordan, and Micah to continue to grow in their walk with the Lord. Also pray for the salvation and faithfulness of our van teens, Jerry and Adessa. We know God has a wonderful plan for these young people and the devil is working overtime to pull them away.

We are also excited to be a part of a special Gospel outreach program at our church called The John Project. We are going out in our community challenging people to read the Gospel of John in one month and then we will follow up with them answering questions and presenting the gospel. This past Thursday, we started the project and we have already had 7 people commit to read John! Praise the Lord for how He leads and guides us to those hungry souls. Please pray that they will be open to the Gospel. We are praying about the possibility of helping other churches who may be interested in starting a similar program at their church after we see how things go at our home church. If you would be interested in doing something like this, please let us know and we would be happy to help you launch a similar outreach.

My husband also has been filling in at various churches with pulpit supply. We had great opportunities at one church in Fairmont, WV who is in search of a pastor currently. This Sunday, he filled in for Pastor Shawn Madrid in Mt Joy, Pa. who is on vacation. We are very thankful for each opportunity God gives and would love to serve you if you are in need of pulpit supply for any reason.

We are having the time of our lives raising our little Israel. He turned 3 months old a week ago and is already almost 14 pounds! He is smiling, laughing, cooing, and moving a whole lot. So far he seems to enjoy traveling. Please continue to pray that he would adjust well and God would give us wisdom as we raise him for His glory.

In addition to the prayer needs mentioned, please pray for:

-Ladies Banquet, wisdom as I teach on May 25th at my church

-More church meetings

-2 mission trip opportunities

-More witnessing opportunities

Once again, we would like to express how thankful we are to you all for your continued prayers and financial support!

Joyfully serving our risen Savior,

The Wrachfords

Blessings Abound

Dear Praying Friends,

Hard to believe it is already April! My mind is on a particular verse right now in the book of Lamentations. ” It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not, they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness”  Lam 3:22 Truly, when I think of all the shortcomings I have, I am totally amazed that God continues to use me and bless.

We were able to have a teen activity at Dunbar Baptist with our youth and two other churches within an hr of Dunbar. There were about 15 or 16 young people in attendance and several sponsors. We ate hot dogs, had a lazer tag game that the teens and sponsors enjoyed and then a good friend of mine, Pastor Haasz, preached a message on desiring the will of God. God seemed to move in the hearts of some of the teens. One of the teens that comes to our church from time to time raised his hand in regard to assurance of salvation, and I had the privilege of talking to him for a few minutes. Please pray that this young man, Jerry Yailey will take the needed steps in his life and be more faithful. I am very burdened for our young people in America and around the world that they will be sold out to God completely, and the message was a much needed one in our day.

The last few weeks have found me, traveling to Wisconsin for a conference to attend that and God brought a Pastor into my path who had gone to Ambassador, and we had a great time of fellowship not only learning from the Word of God, but also learning from each other and enjoying a meal together. Then, in Mid March, our family was off to preach a revival Meeting at a church in Central Pa with Pastor Harvin. We had a tremendous meeting and although it seemed that the week flew by, we had several visitors, and the people seemed as if God was really doing a stirring work. Pastor also ended up feeling very encouraged by the end of the week, which is always a great blessing.

When we got home, we had missions conference at our home church the following week and two of my former classmates who are on deputation had tremendous messages to share over the weekend challenging us in our walks with God and heart for the harvest. After the missions conference, we headed out to Florida for my wife to be in a wedding of her friend, it went well. So as you can see, we are starting our baby Israel out early with all the travels. Ha! Seriously though, He has done very well!

Looking ahead, I still have much open time in the summer for revival meetings/ children’s revivals and all the fall is open as well. It has never ceased to amaze me how God provides the meetings. Over the last two years, God has filled my schedule so that I have been preaching about 1/2 to 3/4 of the year in various churches and revival meetings. The rest has been spent helping at my Dad’s church with the youth. I am content to be used as God sees fit, but I am asking you to pray with me that God would continue to fill my schedule for this year as He has done in years past.

God has also been providing for the expenses of the birth of our baby, so I am very thankful for this.

If God is willing, we do hope to have a new prayer card made up soon once the baby gets a little older. Please keep our family in your prayers as you think of us in regards to several areas

  • spirit filling
  • God’s continued provision
  • Meetings
  • our adjustment to parenting
  • souls

Baby Born on Feb 16!

Dear Praying Friends and family,

Unfortunately, by the time this email goes out it will be Sunday AM and the baby will be a day old. But, nonetheless, we do have exciting news that Israel David Wrachford made his appearance at 9:03 am on Saturday Feb 16! He weighed in at a whopping 10 lb 3 oz at birth and 21 inches. He seems to be a very happy little fellow and we are loving him to death.

As you all probably know, my wife and I had decided to go the midwife route. However, near the end of her labor, it became necessary to transport to a hospital as my wife was unable to finish the final stages of labor due to the baby’s size. Once we transported there, they were able to give her the help she needed without doing a c section. And she completed the labor in two more hrs, which was a great relief to her from the nearly two days worth of labor she had already been through. We are thankful all went well. However, as you can imagine that this will be quite a bit of an expense we were not anticipating. Please pray that God would meet the need. God has been so good to us. We wanted to include a picture so you can put a face with the update 🙂

Greetings From Dunbar

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

I trust you are doing well. I pray that this letter finds you enjoying God’s blessings where He has planted you. I have you all in my mind and heart on a regular basis and am praying that God will use you in tremendous ways. Hopefully, you had a wonderful Christmas. I know that I did and it was wonderful to see so many friends and family.

As I am sure you all are well aware by now, my wife and I are expecting our first child who is due this Friday. Things seem to be progressing and we are in much suspense as to when our precious blessing from God will make his or her appearance. We will definitely send out an update when that happens 🙂

As for ministry, things are going well. We had the privilege of having a teen activity this past month at the end of January. There was a good turnout for it and we are just praying that some of the teens will have a renewed interest in the church and God will do a drawing work. We have a couple of young people that I am trying to encourage and mentor along a little more as they seem to have a desire to do right. I have asked them to pray about taking a missions trip this summer. So, I am excited to see what God will do and how He will lead them.

At the beginning of January, God allowed me to preach at a Pastor’s fellowship in central Pa led by Pastor John Leatherman. Many of these men are personal friends and many I am just beginning to build a friendship with. It was a blessing to be able to encourage them in their work for God, and they are definitely an encouragement to me.

I am excited for the time we will be back on the road! We have one revival meeting scheduled in March in Central Pa, and want to see God move in a mighty way. Also, we do have a couple of Vacation Bible Schools for the summer. One is a new church, one we have been to several times and are looking forward to ministering there again. I do have a few openings left. So if you would pray that God would fill our schedule out for the summer and give us exactly what He wants us to have.

The rest of the year is looking pretty open at this point, but we are trusting and asking God to give us the opportunities that He longs for us to have.

a couple of weeks ago, in our deaf class, my wife had a visitor by the name of Dream. He really enjoyed his first visit, but lives about two hrs away and had spent the weekend with his friends whom he goes to the deaf school with in Pittsburgh. God is at work in the class and the kids are beginning to ask some questions!

as I close this letter, I would like to give you a couple of prayer requests and praises.

  • I am praising God that He has brought several people into my path recently that I have been able to witness to!
  • Please pray that God would work in the lives of our teens. Specifically, pray for Jordan, JT, and Micah the thred that we normally have, that God would strengthen their walk with Him, and they would want to be fully dedicated to God.
  • Pray for several that we have not seen in a while that we are trying to reach out to and see God bring them back to church and work with the needs that they have including salvation. Melody, Kaitlyn, Jerry, Addessa, John…( several of these did come to the teen activity recently)
  • Pray that God would give divine appointments to witness and that I would recognize them as they come.
  • Pray for meetings to fill our schedule and that God would work through me and my wife.

Joyfully Serving Our Risen Saviour,

Stephen, Karyn and Baby Wrachford.

Micah 6:8

Merry Christmas!!

Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to start out by saying merry Christmas from our family to yours! We hope that you have a wonderful and Christ honoring time and enjoy some extra time with  friends and family! Hopefully, you will read this before the day is out anyway, but if not, a belated merry Christmas. We are very thankful for each of you with your faithful prayers and friendship; serving along side you is always such a blessing and you are in our prayers on a regular basis. I trust that you will have a great 2019 as well and that God will richly bless you as you serve Him!

Since the last update, so much has happened, my wife has started a class for the deaf family that has been coming to our home church, so she enjoys doing this when we are not on the road. Please pray specifically for them that they would understand the gospel and be saved.

Recently, I was able to go up to help Pastor Penberthey for whom many of you have been praying. He seems to be doing well considering the circumstances, but he is definitely looking forward to being back in action full swing as soon as possible. Continue to pray for him as he faces his next surgery for the final knee replacement in the near future. I was able to get out and visit several of his church members for him while I was filling in for him a couple of weeks ago. My wife was not able to go so we have been blessed to be back together again and are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with family!

Many of you have been praying about our vehicle and travel trailer situation. After much prayer, God has led us to purchase a small utility trailer for the time being to accommodate all our luggage during travels which was our biggest immediate need with the baby coming. We will just continue to wait on the Lord to see what else He may have for us. Please pray for us as we get the hitch installed on the car in the next couple of days that everything will go well in His will. We are so thankful that our car is doing so well and has continued to run without any major issues.

We had a tremendous meeting with Pastor Livermore back in November with visitors pretty much every night and excellent attendance. We are thankful for the tender hearts. This Christmas season has been very busy helping with the church wide Christmas banquet at our home church and preaching for Pastor Stevenson at his church Christmas banquet. In the month of January I will be preaching for a pastor’s fellowship in central Pa. I am looking forward to the time of fellowship and making connection with different pastors.

We have switched recently to a midwife for the baby since it is a much more affordable option and has more of the type of care we had been wanting anyway. We are thankful for her and how nice she has been. Hard to believe that the baby is due to arrive in just a few weeks.

We are looking forward to this coming year and all that God has in store for our family and the upcoming meetings. Please continue to keep us in your prayers

In closing, we would like you to pray:

  • for a healthy mom and baby in the delivery process
  • for our child to be saved at an early age.
  • for the upcoming pastor’s fellowship that God would use it to be a blessing to the pastors
  • for more meetings in this upcoming year, especially VBS
  • God’s power in preaching and soul winning efforts
  • God’s provision

Stephen, Karyn and baby Wrachford

Special Prayer Request

Dear praying friends,

I wanted to write this quick email to just give a praise and also to give a matter of earnest prayer. Even since the last update, God has continued to bring opportunities into my path to book meetings. I am very grateful. God has continued along the way on the road for me to meet some amazing friends and see God bless with people’s heart being touched by the Word of God. We had a wonderful homecoming service this last Sunday at South Charlotte Baptist Church and several visitors came for the special occasion and I was privileged to preach to the Kids as well as the adults. We are hoping to help the ministry here over the next couple of weeks in between meetings.

For the special prayer request, I have been able to make acquaintance with a new friend Pastor Lloyd Penberthy. He is pastor of First Baptist Church of Hallsetead, Pa. Right now, he is dealing with knee problems and is in need of a double knee surgery. This is weighing heavily on his mind as he has not been able to do the work of the ministry like he desires and will be out of the pulpit for a while with the two separate surgeries. His first is to take place on Nov 9th. It would just like to get an army of God’s servants together praying for him. If God would lead you to be an encouragement to him, information to contact him can be found here. http://www.fbchallsteadpa.org/contact-us.php

I am sure he would love to know that you are praying for him! He has asked me to come help him out at least for the 16th of December to begin with and do some visiting during the week. Please pray with me that this would be an encouraging a fruitful week for this new friend! Pray for visitors to come and pray for souls to be saved and people surrendered! Also, as you think of him, pray that God would allow the surgeries to be successful and he would be able to get back in the saddle if this would be God’s will and for His Glory!

We certainly appreciate your prayers as my wife and I minister together and navigate these final few months of her pregnancy and eagerly await the birth of our first child! Pray that God would grant wisdom to discern the balance between ministry and meeting family needs with the Dr. appointments and so forth.

Joyfully Serving our Risen Saviour,

Stephen and Karyn Wrachford

Plodding On

Dear Praying friends,

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers! God has been blessing! In our last update, I asked each of you to pray for more meetings and God has continued to do just that! Several churches have allowed me to come to either fill in for them or to share about the future of our ministry and the direction God is leading.

We were able attend a special fellowship last week with Beacon of Truth and meet several new pastors and several long time friends there. One pastor has asked me to come preach a revival meeting for him this coming Nov.  Also, we made many wonderful friends and the time of fellowship was such an encouragement.

Back in September, God allowed me to preach another revival at my good friend, Pastor Erick Linginfelter’s church! What an encouragement that week was to see people with tender hearts and wanting revival. The pastor was greatly blessed this week and we were able to see some fruit from visits throughout the week and a man who had just recently been saved but is dealing with a terminal illness was able to attend church for the first time since being saved! During that week, my wife taught a sign language class to the kids which they greatly enjoyed, and I preached in their Christian School Chapel.

My wife is doing well, and it is hard to believe that she is over halfway through the pregnancy. The doctors have been very pleased with everything to this point and we are looking to the Lord in these last 5 months to have His perfect will in things and that we will be godly parents that will raise our child to serve Him.

Back in the end of September, I was able to preach the Harvest Dinner at my home church for the Sunday and it was a blessing to see several folks come who had not been to church in 30 years or so show up! Please pray that they will come back and get grounded in the things of God or be saved if they are not yet saved.

We are looking forward to the months ahead of us as we continue to travel until we settle down for the Christmas season and the birth of our child! Please continue to pray for us! We are still seeking wisdom about the travel trailer. I have done some research and looking into different options. At the very least we will probably need to purchase another vehicle and find a way to accommodate the supplies we will need to carry on the road with the edition of the child. Here are the prayer requests We would like you to keep in mind as you think of us.

  1. Safety and health in travels
  2. For Spirit filled preaching and living
  3. For Wisdom regarding the travel trailer
  4. For more meetings
  5. For God’s provision for the birth of our child
  6. For Spiritual fruit, salvation, and surrender of God’s people

Joyfully Serving Our Risen Saviour,

Blessings!

Dear Praying Friends,

God has continued to bless in many ways since the last update! I Just wanted to catch everyone up on what has been happening since the beginning of the year. God allowed me to have several opportunities to do pulpit supply as well as work with the youth at my home church in Dunbar Pa. Several of the young people graduated and we had a few new ones move up into the youth group.

Back in May, Karyn and I were finally married and it has been a wonderful two months of serving the Lord! Thanks for all your prayers and support throughout this time. We both officially joined Dunbar Baptist in Dunbar, Pa as our sending church following our marriage. Just a couple of weeks ago we were able to direct the VBS of our home church and see two children come to know Christ. Karyn shared the missionary story each night and I preached.  The parents of one of our bus kids also accepted Christ for which we are very grateful! We also found out that there will be a new addition to our evangelistic ministry early next year Lord willing! Pray for a healthy little one in God’s will and that the young one will grow up to love and serve our Saviour! Unfortunately, the health coverage that we had arranged for will not cover her due to how soon this occurred, so please pray for wisdom regarding this situation.

Following our VBS, we went out to Troy, OH to assist that ministry alongside Evangelist Glenn Stevenson for the week. we had a good number of young people in the morning VBS and the evening teen events as well 25 or so people made profession of faith throughout the week. We were involved in the counseling as well as the program itself, and my wife led the games throughout the week. I also had the opportunity to preach to the Jr. Church on Sunday morning and my wife led singing that day. Throughout the week we helped invite teens to the evening event.

When we arrived back in Dunbar this past week, we had a deaf family visit the church that my wife and I had met several weeks prior in the park. She was able to interpret for the service and share the gospel with them. This was a direct answer to prayer!

Please pray for us that God would continue to supply meetings and we will be a blessing to churches wherever we go! It is a great joy to serve in evangelism and see young and old alike trust Christ. If there is any way we can serve you, please feel free to reach out to us, and we would be happy to help any way we can!

There is also a praise regarding our ministry, several people have chosen to support us through Dunbar Baptist Mission at our home church, so this will enable us to be a help to churches that don’t have the financial capability to have an evangelist for meetings. We are excited for the possibilities that God has! This has also been a direct answer to prayer!

Thank you everyone for your prayers, encouragement and financial support. The part you play in our ministry is a huge part of all that God is doing!

We have a few prayer requests:

  1. Spirit filling in everything we do
  2. Wisdom regarding whether we should purchase a travel trailer or not for our ministry
  3. we would like to take a missions trip soon. Pray that God would clearly lead us as to where He would have us to go and when.
  4. Pray for my wife as she carries our child and that the Lord would supply the needs.
  5. Pray that the parents who were saved will come to church.

Joyfully Serving Jesus

Dear faithful praying and supporting friends,

We wanted to start out by apologizing for the long time in between updates. It seems that time slips by us before we know it so often. Ministry Transitions

Dear faithful supporters,

We wanted to start off by saying how thankful we are for God’s grace that is truly sufficient for any circumstance that may come our way!

Stephen and Karyn Wrachford
